Notification of Positive COVID-19 test at Crabbe Elementary

This is a notification that a student at Crabbe Elementary school has tested positive for COVID-19. The COVID-19 exposure happened in a kindergarten and a first grade classroom. We are keeping this student in our thoughts and are hoping they have a speedy recovery.

As required, our district has reported this information to our local health department. We are working with the Ashland Boyd County Health Department and are taking all recommended steps to ensure the safety of our children and staff. At present, one staff member and six students have been quarantined by the health department.  Additional steps the district is implementing include: individuals will not return to school until they have completed isolation procedures for COVID-19 and the building will undergo thorough cleaning and sanitation.
