This is my 34th year of public safety service in Boyd County. In 1987, I began as a dispatcher at the Regional Public Safety Communications Center (Boyd Co. 9-1-1). I embarked on my law enforcement career in 1989 as an officer with the Ashland Police Department. I served in many capacities including Detective, Sergeant and Lieutenant. In 2011, I was promoted to Major and was assigned as Commander of the Field Operations Division. I retired from Ashland PD in 2017 after 28 1/2 years service. I've been a part time deputy with the Boyd County Sheriff's Office since November of 2017.
In the spring of 2018, I started with the Ashland Independent School District as a "Safety Specialist" assigned to Paul Blazer High School. I monitor the campus and work closely with the Ashland PD SRO in protecting our students and staff. In 2019, I began teaching a brand new course at Blazer: "Intro to Criminal Justice". I'm very excited for the many career opportunities these courses will open up for our students!
