Schools in Kentucky are designated as ‘Distinguished’ when their overall, combined accountability score reaches the ‘90th percentile’. For high schools, this is equivalent to an overall score of 75.4 or higher. Blazer’s score of 76.1 places them at the 93rd percentile for high schools in Kentucky.
The score is a combination of a ‘Learners’ score and a ‘Program Reviews’ score. The Learners score is composed of performance across five areas – Achievement, Gap, Growth, College/Career Readiness and Graduation – each of which is weighted equally (20%). This Learners score is then combined with the Program Reviews score – a rating of program performance in Writing, Arts & Humanities and Practical Living/Career Studies – to arrive at the overall score.
This is the first time during the ‘Unbridled Learning’ era that Blazer has achieved Distinguished classification.
