The faculty and staff at Charles Russell Elementary would like to welcome you to our school. We believe that it is our mission to provide each and every student with the most comprehensive, positive, and nurturing environment so as to encourage them to reach their highest academic potential, while developing their independent thinking skills, creativity, physical well being, and social skills. We believe that this mission will be accomplished through continuing positive relationships and interactions between our school and the community we serve.
Charles Russell Elementary is a facility of approximately 320 students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Our school has approximately 40 staff members who are dedicated to the well being of each and every student. Charles Russell is a site-based decision-making school. Our council meets on the first Monday of every month. Our council is composed of the principal, three teachers, and two parents. Parents are elected to the council through our school PTO. All are welcome to attend SBDM and PTO Meetings. Programs offered at our school include Strings class and Harmonica class on Friday afternoon during the school day and after school groups: Student Technology Leadership Program, Beta Club, Academic Team, and Safety Patrol.
We encourage parents to be involved with their children both during school by volunteering, joining the PTO, and at home by encouraging and supporting their child to always do their best. Positive parent involvement plays a major role in the success of borh the individual student and the school as a whole. By working together, Charles Russell will be a positive place for your child to learn and grow.
Thank you for your continued support,
Shawn Thornbury, Principal
